IND vs PAK: Battered. Slaughtered. Hammered. Mauka seized!
It has happened. Yes, Finally the scoreline has changed from 0 to 1. History has been created on October 24, 2021 and will be remembered for decades and generations to come. This will go as one of the great days if not the greatest in the history of Pakistan cricket and hardly few will argue about it.
After losing the toss, the Indian top-order batsmen had no answers for the Pakistani quick bowlers as the top 3 batters were sent back to the hut within the powerplay. Pant and Kohli consolidated a little, but India couldn’t finish off strongly ending up with a below-par score of 151.
Out came the Pakistani batsmen and they didn’t look troubled at all. It was a showcase of pure class and talent from the men in green. They took calculated risks whenever required and nicely accelerated the chase and took their side past the finishing line without losing a wicket and sweat too.
The Indians looked clueless throughout the game, and it was heart-wrenching for a fan to sit through the entire game, coming into the tournament tagged as favorites. The team composition wasn’t entirely convincing given the performance of the spinners in the warmup games since the slow bowlers did a great job for Pakistan and India was one short of them.
The Indian pacers looked out of sorts, and one should hope that it was just an off day & they would fare better in the upcoming games. Lots of questions have crept up in the Indian dressing room and hopefully, they should be able to shrug off everything in a week before they face New Zealand in their second game.
Now the top 2 finish is in a little jeopardy given India’s record against NZ in T20 WCs and it will require a great turnaround from the men in blue after the humiliating defeat at the hands of their neighbors.
One must wonder even a die-hard Pakistani fan would have expected this 10 wicket victory over India before the match started. Thus, the waiiitttttttt for Pakistan is over now, and to sum up the night for them in Barney’s style, it was legen..wait for it..darrrryyyy!!
And now it's turn for the Indian fans to wait patiently for a week to see whether India gets one against New Zealand for the first time in the grand stage just like Pakistan went one up against them.
